Storage Lid

This compact and durable lid allows pre-filled drums to be easily transported and left where and when required; whether in the workshop, on the plant, or in the back of the vehicle. A convenient alternative to the handling of 20 litre drums.


Stretch Spout Lid

Ideal for use with lower viscosity oils (ie. ISO220) or where precise pouring is required. Some applications include air compressors, pumps, chainsaws, lawn mowers, small engines, motor cycles and hydraulic systems.


Stumpy Spout Lid

Ideal for topping up engines, gearboxes, crankcases and other applications where higher flow is required.


Oil Safe Pump

Ideal for those awkward and hard to reach oil top up applications such as motorcycles, gearboxes, lathes and milling machines. Supplied with outlet hose and anti-drip nozzle. Simply fit the pump to an Oil Safe Utility Lid and mate with a 3, 5 or 10 litre / US Quart Oil Safe Drum.


Stretch Spout Hose Extension

Fitting a Spout Hose Extension to the Stretch Spout Valve will enable controlled pouring into awkward, small or hard to reach places. The hose can be pulled from the fitting and cut to length as required.

Our piston cups are made from the highest quality materials available and provide Successful SealingSM- long life and a true value in service in all cup sealed equipment.

Type "B" Piston Cups

Type "B" piston cups are made from a special nitrile compound which is reinforced with the finest cotton duck. Their low friction design is effective with air, water, oils and low pressure steam. Applications include the main and gate cylinders in pulp wood grinders and hydraulic jacks in rolling mills.

Type "B" piston cups are available in all standard diameters to 24" (610 mm) outside diameter

Type "T" Piston Cups

The Type "T" cup is manufactured from virgin TFE and has application on pistons in equipment such as metering systems where corrosives and strong chemicals are handled.

Other Materials Our piston cups are also available in the following materials to suit individual applications: Type H, Homogeneous Nitrile (for responsiveness in low pressure sealing of air, oil or water),; Type E6, Leather; and, Type U, Homogeneous Polyurethane.

"U" Ring Seals

Our continuous "U" ring seals are manufactured from the same materials as our Piston Cups and provide Successful SealingSM in high pressure service wherever these single ring seals are appropriate. They are available in standard cross sections and heights up to 30" outside diameter.

Type U-B

Constructed from nitrile rubber reinforced with cotton duck, Type U-B seals are effective in sealing air, water, oil, and low pressure steam.

Type U-T

Machined from virgin TFE, Type U-T ring seals are useful in sealing corrosives and strong chemicals.

Other Materials available in "U" ring seals include: Type U-H, Homogeneous Nitrile; Type U-E6, Leather; and Type U-U, Homogeneous Polyurethane.

To order any "U" ring seal, provide material type, inside diameter, outside diameter and maximum ring height. When ordering "U" Ring Seals, provide the dimensions indicated in the drawing at left.

"V" Rings

Style 1700-W

V Ring Packing SetOur 1700-W cotton duck "V" ring sets are designed for long service in reciprocating rams and plungers. All sets are supplied with top and bottom adapters and specially molded pressure rings to ensure sealing over the widest pressure variation possible, up to 250°F (120°C).

Our Hydraulic "V" Ring sets consist of male and female adaptor rings and the appropriate number of center pressure rings. They are normally supplied split, but are available endless in most sizes when specified on your order.

Styles 1600-T, 1600-U, 1600-W

Style 1600-T is machined from pure TFE and is intended for use where strong chemicals are present: to order, see below.

Other Materials Style 1600 "V" Rings are also available in the following materials to suit individual applications: Style 1600W, Neoprene and Cotton Duck; Style 1600-U, homogeneous Polyurethane.

Many standard sizes are available. To order, specify:

  1. Outside diameter x inside diameter x depth of stuffing box
  2. Pressure & fluid
  3. Specify endless or split rings.

Solid shaft extractors are excellent for removing valve stem packing and packing which tends to break up easily. They are also useful for checking for shaft sleeve roughness and stuffing box bore pits or leak paths.

For everyone who has experienced extra downtime because a new lantern ring was needed during repacking and had to be made or air shipped in at extra cost!

Just as bulk packing minimizes inventory for mechanical packings, the "Universal Seal Cage Lantern Ring" eliminates specific sized lantern rings. It is available in all standard cross sections and widths, is made from virgin PTFE for corrosion resistance in pH 0-14 and temperatures to 500°F (260°C).

HOW IT WORKS
The Universal Seal Cage Lantern Ring is simple to use. Just uncoil the length, wrap it around the pump shaft, and butt cut to size on site! Ring will spring to the bore of the stuffing box, providing shaft clearance. Short lengths can be used to form one lantern ring.

For a perfect end joint fit, wrap two turns of electrical tape around a mandrel of the same size as your shaft & butt cut.

How to select size: Choose the same size as the equipment requires for packing cross section, and choose the width which matches the present lantern ring most closely. You can create other widths by combining two standard width rings or standard and extra width rings.

Service: The Type A Universal Lantern Ring is made from virgin PTFE and may be used in all services in the pH range 0-14 up to 500°F (260°C) except molten alkali metals.

Packaging: The Type A Universal Lantern Ring is furnished in a roll 48" (1.2 m) long.

The GFT Lantern Ring goes over the shaft and fits the stuffing box snugly with no chance of movement, even at very high shaft speeds. The tough construction prevents bending or collapsing under extreme pressures. Conventional lantern rings can bind up on the bore of the stuffing box which prevents inside rings of packing from being compressed properly. This problem is eliminated with GFT Lantern Rings. Conventional metal lantern rings can become caught and cause shaft damage. This problem can be eliminated with GFT Lantern Rings.
