Solid shaft extractors are excellent for removing valve stem packing and packing which tends to break up easily. They are also useful for checking for shaft sleeve roughness and stuffing box bore pits or leak paths.

The INDUSTRIAL Brand™ Packing Cutting Knife (with leather sheath) features the corrosion resistant stainless steel blade quickly and cleanly cuts all braided packings. After use, the stiff thin blade can be quickly restored to a fine cutting edge with only a few strokes of a mill file.

FINALLY . . . a packing extractor with the proper design to get you into the most difficult areas.

Tool Steel

These specialty tools are made of 1060 high carbon, heat treated steel. They are strong and tough . . . giving the mechanic the extra strength needed to get out old hardened packing.

The Handle

The grooves on the handle line up so that you get the maximum leverage from your wrist and thumb. The complex angles of the tool will help give proper penetration around the shaft and into the packing.

30° Angle

The 30° angle allows you to get around the shaft and keep the point from damaging the stuffing box.

15° Angle

The 15° angle allows access around the shaft so you can get to the packing.

The Point

The set point will help reduce scratching or damaging the shaft or sleeve. A damaged shaft, stem, or sleeve can accelerate leakage.

Our durable all metal Packing Ring Cutter cuts perfect skive joint (45° angle) packing rings every time with only one simple setting for each size ring. Save time and reduce waste of material. Carry only the cut set of finished rings to the job site instead of full boxes or reels.

The INDUSTRIAL Brand™ Packing Ring Cutter is available in two sizes. The small size, PC-1, cuts rings of 1/4" through 5/8" cross section for all shaft sizes from 15/16" to 3 1/2" diameter. The large size, PC-2, cuts rings of 1/4" through 1" cross section for all shaft sizes from 15/16" through 10" diameter. Both cutter sets come complete with packing record cards, ring length tables and a cutting knife with leather sheath.
